Can a Seychelles Company Accept Crypto Payments Without a Bank Account?
Generally, a Seychelles company can receive cryptocurrency directly into its own wallet as payment for its own goods or services, provided that the complete business model does not amount to a regulated virtual asset service.
This can give an international company a practical collection channel where bank onboarding is slow, a merchant account is unavailable or a payment institution does not support the company's markets. A customer that already holds crypto can settle the invoice directly to a company-controlled address.
Seychelles introduced a formal VASP regime in 2024 and actively warns against unlicensed virtual-asset businesses. A company should therefore describe itself as a merchant accepting crypto, where that is the genuine activity, and must not imply that incorporation as a Seychelles IBC constitutes VASP authorisation.
Why Use a Seychelles Corporate Wallet?
A direct wallet may allow the company to:
- receive international payments without an acquiring bank;
- reduce dependency on a single payment institution;
- settle outside banking hours;
- retain control through a multi-signature treasury;
- accept stablecoins from crypto-native customers;
- preserve transparent on-chain payment evidence.
The model is not anonymous banking. The company remains responsible for knowing its customers where required, screening sanctions and wallet risk, recording revenue and explaining the source of assets to any later bank or exchange.
Merchant Acceptance Under the Seychelles VASP Regime
The Virtual Asset Service Providers Act 2024 came into force on 1 September 2024. Seychelles FSA licensing guidance identifies four principal VASP categories:
- virtual asset wallet service providers;
- virtual asset exchanges;
- virtual asset brokers;
- virtual asset investment providers.
Owning and using a wallet for the company's own revenue is not the same as providing wallet services to customers. A normal merchant is the recipient and beneficial owner of the payment; it is not safeguarding the payer's asset after settlement.
Because the Seychelles framework does not provide the same express merchant wording found in some other jurisdictions, the company should obtain a local perimeter opinion, especially where the website, contracts or technology include additional crypto functions.
A VASP licence analysis is essential if the company:
- holds customer assets or private keys;
- provides wallets or customer balances;
- exchanges virtual assets;
- acts as a broker or investment adviser;
- receives and forwards payments for other merchants;
- operates a crypto platform from Seychelles.

Is Conversion to Fiat Mandatory?
There is no general rule requiring an ordinary Seychelles merchant to convert every crypto receipt immediately into fiat. The company may generally keep the asset in its corporate wallet, subject to an approved treasury and accounting policy.
The absence of mandatory conversion does not remove the need to value the receipt. The company should record the contractual invoice amount and the reporting-currency value when control of the asset is obtained. Later conversion, spending or transfer should be recorded separately.
If a regulated exchange or bank is used later, it may request enhanced evidence connecting the customer, invoice, receiving wallet and transaction.
Business Tax and Record Keeping
The Seychelles Revenue Commission explains that the jurisdiction historically operates a territorial tax system, with important amendments applying to covered companies and certain passive foreign income.
For ordinary companies under the business-tax regime, the SRC currently states rates of 15% on the first SCR 1 million of taxable income and 25% above that amount. The source, activity and entity-specific rules require review; Seychelles incorporation does not automatically make active business income tax-free.
The SRC also requires businesses under the ordinary regime to file returns and keep income and expenditure records for at least seven years. Crypto receipts should therefore be documented with the same discipline as bank receipts.

How to Use Invoiceum with a Seychelles IBC
Invoiceum.com can help show that an incoming wallet transfer is payment of a commercial invoice rather than an unexplained crypto deposit.
Recommended invoice details include:
- The Seychelles company's legal name, number and address.
- Customer information and supply description.
- Contractual amount in USD, EUR or another functional currency.
- Accepted token, contract and network.
- company-controlled wallet address.
- Rate source and quote expiry.
- Required confirmations.
- Refund, underpayment and wrong-network rules.
After payment, connect the invoice to the transaction hash, receipt time, token amount and reporting-currency valuation.
Invoiceum should be used without taking custody of the customer's funds. If any payment service receives, exchanges or forwards the crypto, that service and the merchant's complete flow require a separate Seychelles VASP review.
Recommended Seychelles Workflow
- Confirm that the company is selling its own goods or services.
- Obtain a local perimeter opinion for the actual website and payment flow.
- Use a board-approved multi-signature company wallet.
- Screen customers and wallets proportionately.
- Issue a fiat-denominated invoice through Invoiceum.
- Record the blockchain transaction and fiat value at receipt.
- Reconcile the wallet with the accounting records.
- Preserve evidence for the registered agent, tax authority, bank or exchange.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Seychelles IBC accept USDT directly?
Generally, yes, when the transfer pays for the IBC's own genuine supply and the company is not providing virtual-asset services to the payer.
Is a company wallet a licensed wallet service?
Not ordinarily. A wallet service is provided to customers; a merchant's wallet holds the merchant's own assets. The broader functionality and marketing still matter.
Must the received crypto be converted to fiat?
No general immediate-conversion rule applies to an ordinary merchant. The company must still value and record the revenue correctly.
Is all foreign income of a Seychelles IBC tax-free?
No automatic statement should be made. Source, activity, covered-company and substance rules must be applied to the actual business.
Can Invoiceum solve bank onboarding?
It can enable properly documented direct-wallet invoicing while bank onboarding is pending or unavailable. It does not provide a bank account or guarantee later off-ramp approval.
